It’s that time of year again and Hallie Q. Brown Community Center is getting ready to gear up for our March Campaign!, a drive that helps keep our food shelf stocked throughout the year. We are collaborating with MN FoodShare which oversees the collections of the 300 food shelves in Minnesota for this campaign.
In 2022 alone, Hallie Q. Brown Community Center distributed more than 430,056 pounds of food to our neighbors, community at-large and assisted people from all throughout Minnesota. 2022 saw more Minnesotans dependent on food shelves and food stamps than the previous years. In addition, added challenges like inflation, availability of food staples, and economic hardships are also plaguing families who are already struggling.
We are asking if your school, business or organization will run a food drive in support of this initiative from February 27th-April 9th. The only thing being requested of you is to: Share, Share, Share. Get the word out about your food drive! You can do this through social media, emails, setting a box up in a public space or high-traffic area and competing within your organization. We will provide you with a “side kit”, your very own sidekick in your fight with hunger, which includes a donation box, posters and flyers with a personalized QR Code for your mini campaign. Our March Campaign magazine will also be included which has information like hunger facts sheets, most requested food items and much more. Furthermore, this year’s 1st place leader in pounds and dollars will win a table at our A Night at the Q! Gala with all the perks of the signature sponsorship level. We will be posting weekly on our social media of our top three donation leaders. If you are interested, you may sign up here.
Thank you for your consideration in hosting a food drive as this campaign is imperative in keeping the Hallie Q. Brown Community Center Food Shelf stocked throughout the year.
