Hallie Q. Brown Response to COVID-19
March 14, 2020 - March 28, 2020
Dear Friends of Hallie Q. Brown
I am writing to share with you Hallie Q.’s plan in response to the current situation regarding COVID-19. First and foremost, we encourage everyone to make informed and considerate choices regarding their activities. If you are not feeling well, please prioritize your health over all nonessential activities. As most of you are aware, information is still developing regarding the impact and risks, nevertheless, we are taking the following actions to be ensure the health and safety of the Hallie Q. Community:
What will be affected:
•All Senior Programming will be suspended at this time.
•The Food Shelf will continue to serve registered clients who have made appointments. The Community Area and Clothing Closet will be closed.
•We will not be accepting Clothing Closet donations.
•Except in the case of emergency, we will require that visitors to the Center be there for a specific purpose and depart afterwards (e.g. visiting a program, have an appointment or meeting with a staff or organization, an event, etc.).
What will continue as usual
•Education programs (Early Learning Center and Youth Enrichment Program) will continue as normal.
•Room Rental’s will be reviewed and handled on a case by case basis. If you have an event scheduled, please watch for an email from Phil Glover, Manager of Operations, or contact him directly at pglover@hallieqbrown.org to discuss your event.
•Partners programs will be at the discretion of those individual programs.
We will proceed in this manner unless the City, State or Federal Government issue directives instructing otherwise. We will follow whichever of those authorities which supersedes our own.
We are proceeding in this manner on a weekly basis and determine each week if we are changing anything. Absent that, please consider these actions as the overall operating guidelines at this time.
We will post updates as they become available but at least weekly on our website and social media. We will also be doing aggressive cleaning and sanitizing throughout this time.
We will be operating with limited essential staff during this time, so please bear that in mind as you reach out to us and allow a little extra time for responses.
Please be safe and take care of yourselves, you are part of the Hallie Q. Family and we value your well being. We look forward to resuming normal operations as soon as possible.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions.
Very Truly Yours,
Jonathan Palmer
Executive Director
