Hallie Q. Brown Closed for Staff Renewal and Self Care

December 22, 2021 @ 8:00 am - January 3, 2022 @ 8:00 am

  • « “Christmas Like Normal” by Roger Barr

Over the past two years, our country has been through a lot of turmoil and stressful situations, from the civil unrest in response to the murder of George Floyd, killing of Daunte Wright and systemic racism ingrained in our society to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the general sociopolitical situations across the country.  Nowhere is the impact felt greater than in the nonprofit community.  As an essential services agency, we and our peer agencies have remained open and on the front lines throughout all of these situations to continue to provide services and resources to those most in need. It is our mission and what we do, but it has also added an inordinate amount of additional stress and pressures as we have addressed rising need with decreased volunteers and supports.

Therefore, we have made the decision to take a short break from December 22nd to January 3rd to allow our staff to refresh and renew themselves as we prepare for 2022 and all that it may bring.  Our offices will be closed during this time. Our leadership team will monitor our communication channels for emergencies. Aside from this, however, our team will be engaging in self care and a well deserved and needed break.

Our team here and Hallie Q. works tirelessly throughout the year and I couldn’t ask for a more dedicated or committed group of individuals to work with. Providing this time is as essential as our customer service to ensuring our staff are supported and the best they can be.  We hope you have a wonderful holiday season and look forward to connecting with you in the new year.

Executive Director
