While some of us are heading to work, others are just finishing their shifts. Thank you third-shift workers for your dedication and commitment to keeping businesses running, hospitals staffed, and grocery stores stocked. These essential workers are crucial to our society, make sure to show your appreciation today and every day!
Our friends from @bikesandbitesmpls biked 22 miles round trip last Saturday to deliver much needed supplies to our Basic Needs Food Shelf program. In total, they donated 2,035 pounds of food and household items! Thank you, Bikes and Bites for your hard work and effort to uplift underserved communities.
Frederick McKinley Jones was an African American engineer, entrepreneur, and innovator. In 1935, he invented the first automatic refrigeration system for trucks to ensure produce stayed fresh during transportation. Shortly after in 1938, Frederick McKinley Jones and Joseph Numero co-founded the U.S Thermo Control Company in Minneapolis, Minnesota, now known as Thermo-King Corporation.
Today on National Provider Appreciation Day, Hallie Q. Brown Community Center celebrates all caregivers across the country. Hallie Q’s dedicated Early Learning Center and Youth Enrichment Program staff have continued to provide quality and affordable child care even in the midst of a pandemic. Your hard work, enthusiasm, and patience are preparing our future generation for a lifetime of success, thank you!
Do you know a high school senior who plans to attend college or pursue technical education? The Mary K. Murray Boyd Scholarship is seeking applicants who are young women of color graduating from a St. Paul high school or live in the city of St. Paul.
