The holiday season is a time for warmth, gratitude, and giving back, and at Hallie Q. Brown Community Center, we’re thrilled to kick off our annual Thanksgiving drive. Each year, with the help of generous community members, we bring Thanksgiving essentials to local families, ensuring they have everything they need for a memorable and joyous holiday meal. This year, we’re calling on volunteers to help make the drive a success, and we’d love to have you join us!
Volunteer Roles We Need:
- Sorting Donations: As donations come in, we need volunteers to help sort items like turkeys, gravy, mashed potatoes, canned goods, and more. This is a great opportunity for those who enjoy organizing and have an eye for detail.
- Assembling Baskets: Volunteers will put together baskets with a full spread of Thanksgiving staples. This role is perfect for those who enjoy working in teams and creating something special for others.
- Runners for Pick-Up Day: On the day of pick-up, volunteers will help distribute baskets to families in an efficient and welcoming way. Runners will help with tasks such as carrying baskets to cars and ensuring everyone receives their items smoothly. This role is ideal for those who like to stay active and enjoy direct community interaction.
