Here are a few pics from our local foods night last Thursday. We had a great time at the event and are grateful to all of the exhibitors who helped make it possible!
When kids arrived, they received a card listing five activities — which included everything from a vegetable taste test to a memory game. Kids who completed all of the activities got to choose one of the DVDs from this table as a prize.
The Six String Jammers band performed blues, soul, and oldies music on the front lawn of St. Paul Reformation-Lutheran Church.

In the auditorium downstairs, CSA farms, health food coops, community gardens, and others passed out food samples. The community gardeners pictured here are from Greenhouse Garden (on the left) and Celeste’s Dream (right).
These two are from Happy Acres CSA farm, a current partner of the food shelf. Greg is a longtime friend of HQB who helped organize the event.
In the foreground, two CSA farmers from Bossy Acres visit the Urban Baby table.
Hallie Q. Brown Executive Director Jonathan Palmer checks out the coloring activity with a few kids. Behind the table, 10,000 Licks passes out icepop samples.
