Do you find yourself dreaming of ways to increase poverty and strife? Have you wondered what the world would be like without sunshine and ponies? Do you, in fact, take candy from babies?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, but have been frustrated trying to find a place where you belong, then H.U.N.G.E.R. is the organization for you. Founded on the principles of “might makes right” and “everybody wants to rule the world”, H.U.N.G.E.R. has emerged as the world leader in preventing people from having access to food and needed resources!
Whether you’re trying to destroy the Florida orange crop with mutated sea bass, looking to tie the food bank delivery truck driver to a railroad track with piano music in the background or simply undermining those do-gooders, Hallies Heroes, H.U.N.G.E.R. can help you be the best villain you can be and make the most out of your diabolical plans.
Did you know that 1 in 10 Minnesotans, or more than 500,000 state residents, experience food insecurity on a regular basis?
That is more people than attended Minnesota Vikings home games during the 2015 regular season! Also, in 2014, 11% of all Minnesotans and almost 15% of kids in Minnesota lived below the poverty line, 8.3% of seniors in Minnesota reported being threatened by hunger, and there were more than 3 million visits to food Minnesota food shelves in 2013. Almost half of these visits were made by children and seniors.
That’s H.U.N.G.E.R. at work! We see it as our mission to make sure that H.U.N.G.E.R. touches everyone from every age and background; through our efforts, 49 million Americans, including more than 16 million children, live in households that do not have consistent access to nutritious food. That’s success in any villain’s book!
That’s why we’ve been diversifying our portfolio into other areas like school lunches and food support like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits (formerly known as food stamps). Did you know that in the summer of 2015, 45.5 million Americans utilized SNAP to help feed their households? Of those nearly one in two households has children and 75% households have children, an elderly family member or a family member with a disability…that’s a “Two-Fer”! At H.U.N.G.E.R. we attack the whole family!
Our biggest challenge, of course, is Hallie’s Heroes. Through dedicated community organizing and fundraising efforts, they are attempting to defeat us through raising 55,000 combined dollars and pounds of food…an amount whose force would be so gigantic it would decimate our plans and permanently cripple H.U.N.G.E.R. We are also now facing other Hunger Heroes aligned with MN FoodShare. It’s getting so a supervillain can’t promote poverty, hunger and general distress anymore! Therefore, Hallie’s Heroes, MN Foodshare and even the GTCUW must be stopped at all costs!
